Joaquín Sanz López
President

Joaquín Sanz López has devoted his entire professional career to the renewable energy sector. In his more than 35 years of experience he has held management positions in some of the most important companies in the sector.
Always linked to renewable energies, Joaquín Sanz López has worked in many American and European markets.
In 2011 he founded Arrate Energías, which later became the Arrate Group, following the creation of several companies that make up the business group.

Diego de Cárdenas Van Aerssen Beyeren is the CEO at Grupo Arrate.
Diego de Cárdenas has held various positions of maximum responsibility in several listed companies, including the positions of Global Director of Projects and Transformation at Telefónica, CFO of Telefónica Empresas Brasil, CEO of Brazil, Spain and Portugal at Ezentis and Global General Manager of Business and Operations at the same company.
With experience at all levels of management, he has operated in many international markets such as Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, Spain and Portugal.
Joaquín Sanz
Chief Operating Officer
Joaquín Sanz García is Operations Director of Arrate Energías and Southland. From these companies, the Group develops and builds assets for third parties or in co-development, in addition to advisory and consultancy work.
He has extensive experience in the renewable energy sector in markets such as Mexico, Chile, Bulgaria and Spain.
With studies and a Master's Degree in Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency from the CEU San Pablo University, Joaquín Sanz García has completed the Management Development Programme at the IESE Business School.
María Cañas
Project Area Director
María Cañas is Director of projects at Grupo Arrate. From this position of responsibility, the different projects of Southland and Arrate Energías, two of the Group's companies, are centralised.
Maria has been working in the energy sector for more than fifteen years. Trained as an industrial engineer, she has worked in different areas of the sector throughout her career as head of the operation and maintenance area and works or as assistant manager in project development.
In addition to graduating in Industrial Technical Engineering, María Cañas has a Master's Degree in Industrial Maintenance Engineering and a Master's Degree in Occupational Risk Prevention, specialising in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics and Applied Psychosociology.
Alfonso Gualda
Technical and Construction Manager
Alfonso Gualda has more than 30 years of experience as an industrial technical engineer in the management and execution of electrical, gas, sanitation, air conditioning and oil projects.
He has more than a dozen specialisation degrees in his field, including specialisations in Quality or Architecture and Industry, and a dozen technical certifications.
Alfonso Gualda has been directly involved in more than 400 projects, 80 of them as site manager.
He currently holds the position of Technical and Construction Director and is responsible for the Group's ongoing projects.
Jose Sanz
Legal Director
Jose Sanz García is the legal director at Grupo Arrate. He is the head of the Legal Department and his duties include the ultimate responsibility for the legal supervision of all the company's activities. He is also a director of Aratel, a company of Grupo Arrate.
Jose Sanz joined Arrate in 2018 in the legal area leading numerous projects in Spain and Mexico. In 2021, he will also be responsible for the management of Arate
Jose Sanz García studied Law and Marketing at Villanueva University. He holds a Master's degree in Business Law from the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico and is a lawyer.
Alejandro Garrote
Chief Financial Officer
Alejandro Garrote is the financial director of the Arrate Group. As CFO he is primarily responsible for the financial, accounting and budgeting strategy of the company.
A graduate in International Business Administration and Law from Villanueva University of Madrid, he has also completed postgraduate studies in business management at the University of California and Shanghai University.
His professional experiences have ranged from law in law firms such as Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo to auditing financial statements in large companies such as Ernst & Young.
Jovanny Mojica
Business Development
Jovanny Mojica has a global vision of the company's entire business development activity.
Jovanny has more than 20 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, specialising in the development of photovoltaic, wind, hydro and biomethane projects.
A civil engineer by training, his extensive experience in the renewable energy sector has led him to become familiar with all levels of project development in a wide range of technologies.
